I lead, at the national level and together with a steering committee, the Polyhedra and Combinatorial Optimization (POC) group of ROADEF and the GDR RO I created in 2006. The POC group aims to promote polyhedral methods in combinatorial optimization in France. It was created around the JPOC (Polyhedra and Combinatorial Optimization Days). The group carries out several activities. Each year, it organizes:
- The JPOC days which aim to bring together industrial and academic researchers in the field of polyhedra and combinatorial optimization. These meetings also provide an opportunity for participants to establish exchanges and collaborations. They last two and a half days and gather between 60 and 80 participants. After the JPOC meetings held in Clermont-Ferrand in 2003 and in Marseille in 2005, they have been organized annually. They were held in Avignon in 2006, Évry in 2007, Rouen in 2008, Bordeaux in 2009, Valenciennes in 2011, 2013 in Clermont-Ferrand (celebrates its 10th anniversary in Clermont-Ferrand.), 2015 in Le Havre, 2017 in Villetaneuse, 2019 in Metz, 2021 online, 2023 in Clermont-Ferrand (celebrates its 20th anniversary in Clermont-Ferrand, 2025 in Caen).
- A 16-hours minicourse (spring school) over two days preceding the JPOC. These minicourses are particularly aimed at PhD students and young researchers, and focus on topics in combinatorial optimization.
(In 2010, the JPOC and the minicourse were organized as part of the international conference: International Symposium on Combinatorial Optimization (ISCO), held in Hammamet in March 2010.)
- The POC scientific days (JSPOC) which are biannual focused research meetings (two one-day events). They are organized around well-defined topics in combinatorial optimization and provide an opportunity to discuss open problems. Some of these problems have been solved following these meetings.
- International workshops and conferences. In 2008, the POC group organized the international workshop “Pretty Structure, Existential Polytime, Polyhedral Combinatorics” (April 7–9, 2009, Paris) to celebrate the 75th anniversary of Jack Edmonds. More than 120 participants from several countries attended.
- in 2010, it initiated and co-organized with the Tunisian Management Society the international conference International Symposium on Combinatorial Optimization (ISCO) (March 24–26, Hammamet). Around 240 researchers participated, and 200 presentations were given. Since 2010, the JPOC and ISCO conferences alternate and are held biennially. POC group supervise both events.
- Sessions within conferences.. Each year, the POC group organizes 3–4 sessions at the ROADEF Conference.
